Dive master is the first level of the PADI Professional career, you need to be a rescue diver to take this step and is a pre-requisite to became a PADI Instructor.
You will learn dive leadership skills through classroom and independent study sessions, complete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water, training exercises to test organizational, problem solving abilities. You will also assist the PADI Instructors with in discover scuba diving courses, open water, advanced, rescue and EFR courses.
In addition you receive training in logging in/out of divers, tank filling, equipment maintenance, surface supervision and general diver organization and assistance, radio operations, and boat operations. The course includes at least 40 dives, training materials, dive gear and fees.
Dive masters can work at local dive centers, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations, as a Dive Master you can assist PADI Instructors with students, lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours and teach some PADI courses.
