Ecoactivities

Our commitment to protect the environment rules our daily activities. We have joined the program Eco operators from project aware. The eco operators provide customers with experiences that enhance visitor awareness, appreciation and understanding of the environment.

Of course we are not 100% green, not even close, there are many dreams about solar energy and recycling water in our minds, but we are making small steps to protect reefs and marine life and promote education about our oceans; every month in our newsletter you will find information about the local species and different environmental issues to conserve the planet for future generations.

Please give us suggestions or ideas to increase our efforts.

Our Green Actions

The batteries used for the torches during night dives are rechargeable NiMH (no cadmium, lead or mercury). According
to rechargeable battery makers Uniross, rechargeable batteries have 32 times less impact on the environment and use less than 1/23rd the natural resources of their disposable counterparts.

The food containers, glass and cups are reusable to reduce the use of disposable materials.

We encourage e-mail communication, we only print documents when necessary and all our forms are double side printed.

We keep the groups small, maximum 4 divers/students per Instructor/Dive Master.

We enhance the divers to improve their buoyancy control taking the Peak performance buoyancy as an adventure in the advanced course and as a specialty course.

We do not sell or exhibit items made by coral or threatened species or in danger.

Our briefings include information about buoyancy control, streamlining to avoid dragging gear across the sensitive

marine life, and we make clear statements about no touching, chasing or taking any creature from the ocean.

We have replaced the traditional bulbs for compact fluorescent energy saving bulbs, where is possible. These bulbs use 80% less electricity than ordinary ones.
